المعهد الدولي العربي للسلام والتربية يدعو إلى ترسيخ ثقافة الحوار ونبذ العنف وتعزيز العدالة والسلام في فلسطين والعالم ... بيان صحفي

في مناسبة عالمية تتجدد فيها الدعوة إلى جعل السلام خيارا إنسانيا دائما، أكدت الأمانة العامة للمعهد الدولي العربي للسلام والتربية – جنيف، بمناسبة اليوم الدولي للسلام الذي يصادف في الحادي والعشرين من أيلول من كل عام، أهمية ترسيخ ثقافة السلام والحوار والتفاهم والاحترام المتبادل بين الشعوب، وتعزيز قيم العدالة والحرية وحقوق الإنسان باعتبارها ركائز أساسية لبناء مجتمعات أكثر أمنا واستقرارا وقدرة على مواجهة تحديات الحاضر والمستقبل.

وأوضحت الأمانة العامة أن السلام لا يختزل في مجرد غياب الحروب والنزاعات، وإنما يمثل حالة متكاملة تقوم على صون كرامة الإنسان، وحماية حقوقه، وتحقيق العدالة، وتعزيز التضامن والتعاون، وتهيئة الظروف التي تتيح للشعوب والمجتمعات أن تنعم بالأمن والاستقرار والتنمية المستدامة.

ويأتي إحياء اليوم الدولي للسلام هذا العام تحت شعار "الاستثمار في السلام: للجميع، وفي كل مكان، وكل يوم"، وهو شعار تؤكد الأمم المتحدة من خلاله أن بناء السلام ليس مسؤولية الحكومات والمؤسسات الدولية وحدها، وإنما هو مسؤولية مشتركة تبدأ من الأحياء والمدارس والمجتمعات المحلية، ومن سلوك الأفراد وقدرتهم على الحوار واحترام الآخر ونبذ الكراهية والعنف.

واستحضرت الأمانة العامة دعوة الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو غوتيريش إلى استلهام شجاعة دعاة السلام في الأحياء والفصول الدراسية والمجتمعات المحلية، وحث قادة العالم على الاستثمار في مستقبل يسوده السلام للجميع، مؤكدا أن السلام ليس إنجازا سلبيا أو تلقائيا، بل هو عمل متواصل يتطلب الحوار والدبلوماسية والتفاوض، وحماية حقوق الإنسان وكرامته، والاستثمار في التنمية المستدامة.

وأكد المعهد أن المجتمعات لا تستطيع بناء مستقبل آمن ومستقر في ظل استمرار العنف والكراهية والانقسامات، داعيا إلى اعتماد الحوار والتفاهم والتسامح واحترام التنوع وسيلة لمعالجة الخلافات، وتعزيز دور المؤسسات التعليمية والثقافية والإعلامية والمجتمع المدني في نشر قيم السلام والتعايش ونبذ خطاب الكراهية والتطرف والعنف.

وفي هذا السياق، شددت الأمانة العامة على أن تحقيق السلام العادل والدائم في فلسطين يمثل ضرورة إنسانية وأخلاقية وقانونية، مؤكدة أهمية حماية المدنيين، واحترام قواعد القانون الدولي، وإنهاء أعمال العنف والاعتداءات، وتمكين الشعب الفلسطيني من ممارسة حقوقه المشروعة، وفي مقدمتها حقه في تقرير المصير وإقامة دولته المستقلة، وفقا لقرارات الأمم المتحدة والقانون الدولي.

وأضافت أن السلام الحقيقي في المنطقة لا يمكن أن يتحقق من خلال إدارة الأزمات وتأجيل الحلول، وإنما عبر معالجة جذور النزاعات، وترسيخ العدالة، واحترام حقوق الشعوب، وإيجاد حلول سياسية عادلة ومستدامة تحفظ الأمن والكرامة لجميع شعوب المنطقة.

 

ودعت الأمانة العامة في هذه المناسبة المؤسسات الدولية والحكومات ومنظمات المجتمع المدني والمؤسسات التعليمية والثقافية والإعلامية والشباب إلى مضاعفة الجهود الرامية إلى بناء جسور الحوار والتفاهم، وتعزيز التربية على السلام، ونشر خطاب يقوم على التسامح والاحترام وقبول الآخر، مؤكدة أن الاستثمار في الإنسان والتعليم والثقافة والتنمية يمثل أحد أهم المسارات لبناء السلام المستدام.

وأكد المعهد الدولي العربي للسلام والتربية – جنيف أن السلام لا يصنع في قاعات المؤتمرات وحدها، بل يبدأ من الأسرة والمدرسة والجامعة ومكان العمل والحي والمجتمع، ومن كل إنسان يختار لغة الحوار بدلا من العنف، والتفاهم بدلا من الكراهية، والتعاون بدلا من الانقسام.

وختمت الأمانة العامة رسالتها بالتأكيد على أن السلام حق أصيل لكل إنسان ومسؤولية مشتركة بين الجميع، وأن بناء عالم أكثر أمنا وعدلا لا يبدأ غدا، بل يبدأ من مواقفنا اليوم، ومن قدرتنا على حماية كرامة الإنسان، واحترام حقوقه، والاستثمار في الحوار والعدالة والتنمية. فالسلام ليس مجرد مناسبة يحتفل بها العالم في يوم واحد، وإنما ثقافة وسلوك ومسؤولية ينبغي أن ترافق البشرية في كل يوم.

Arab International Institute for Peace and Education – Geneva: Peace Is a Shared Responsibility Rooted in Justice and Human Dignity

On the International Day of Peace, the Arab International Institute for Peace and Education calls for strengthening a culture of dialogue, rejecting violence, and promoting justice and peace in Palestine and around the world

Geneva – September 21, 2026

On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, observed annually on September 21, the General Secretariat of the Arab International Institute for Peace and Education – Geneva reaffirmed the importance of promoting a culture of peace, dialogue, understanding, and mutual respect among peoples, while strengthening the values of justice, freedom, and human rights as fundamental pillars for building safer, more stable societies capable of addressing the challenges of the present and the future.

The General Secretariat emphasized that peace cannot be reduced merely to the absence of wars and conflicts. Rather, it represents a comprehensive state founded on protecting human dignity and rights, achieving justice, strengthening solidarity and cooperation, and creating conditions that enable peoples and communities to enjoy security, stability, and sustainable development.

The International Day of Peace is observed this year under the theme "Investing in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.” Through this theme, the United Nations emphasizes that building peace is not the responsibility of governments and international institutions alone. It is a shared responsibility that begins in neighborhoods, classrooms, and local communities, as well as through the conduct of individuals and their ability to engage in dialogue, respect others, and reject hatred and violence.

The General Secretariat also recalled the call of United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres to draw inspiration from the courage of peacebuilders in neighborhoods, classrooms, and local communities, and his appeal to world leaders to invest in a future of peace for all. Peace, as emphasized by the United Nations, is not an automatic achievement; it requires continuous work through dialogue, diplomacy, negotiation, the protection of human rights, and respect for human dignity.

The Institute stressed that societies cannot build a secure and stable future amid the continued spread of violence, hatred, and division. It therefore called for dialogue, understanding, tolerance, respect for diversity, and peaceful engagement as means of addressing differences, while strengthening the role of educational, cultural, and media institutions, as well as civil society, in promoting the values of peace, coexistence, and rejection of hate speech, extremism, and violence.

In this context, the General Secretariat stressed that achieving a just and lasting peace in Palestine is a humanitarian, moral, and legal necessity. It emphasized the importance of protecting civilians, respecting international law, ending acts of violence and aggression, and enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights, foremost among them the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state, in accordance with United Nations resolutions and international law.

The Institute further noted that genuine peace in the region cannot be achieved through merely managing crises or postponing solutions. Rather, it requires addressing the root causes of conflicts, upholding justice, respecting the rights of peoples, and pursuing fair and sustainable political solutions that safeguard security and dignity for all peoples of the region.

The General Secretariat called on international institutions, governments, civil society organizations, educational and cultural institutions, media organizations, and young people to intensify efforts to build bridges of dialogue and understanding, promote peace education, and advance a discourse based on tolerance, respect, and acceptance of others. It emphasized that investing in people, education, culture, and sustainable development is among the most important pathways toward building lasting peace.

The Arab International Institute for Peace and Education – Geneva affirmed that peace is not created solely in conference halls. It begins within families, schools, universities, workplaces, neighborhoods, and communities, and with every individual who chooses dialogue over violence, understanding over hatred, and cooperation over division.

The General Secretariat concluded its message by reaffirming that peace is an inherent right of every human being and a shared responsibility. Building a safer and more just world does not begin tomorrow; it begins with our actions today and with our ability to protect human dignity, respect human rights, and invest in dialogue, justice, and sustainable development. Peace is not merely an occasion celebrated by the world on one day; it is a culture, a way of life, and a responsibility that should guide humanity every day.
